About A Lazy Athlete
Not everyone who loves cycling is training for a Grand Tour. Some of us just enjoy the ride.
A Lazy Athlete was started by someone who wanted a place to talk about cycling without the obsessive training logs, power meter data, and gear elitism that dominates most cycling content online. Cycling is supposed to be fun. This site tries to keep it that way.
What you’ll find here
Race recaps from the Spring Classics and major professional races — written for people who love the sport but don’t need a 3,000 word tactical breakdown of every kilometre. The important stuff, clearly explained, without the jargon.
Beginner tips and guides for casual riders who want to get fitter, ride further, or simply enjoy their time on the bike a bit more. No assumptions that you’re already doing 20 hours a week in the saddle.
And an honest, slightly lazy perspective on all of it — because most of us are athletes in our own way, even if we take the scenic route to get there.
The name
A lazy athlete isn’t someone who doesn’t care. It’s someone who knows that cycling should fit around your life, not the other way around. You don’t need to suffer to enjoy this sport. You just need a bike and somewhere to go.
